Mom On Call
Mom on Call…Help when you need it.

Breastfeeding moms need education and support. Our Mom on Call program provides expectant and breastfeeding mothers with breastfeeding education and support from someone who knows best: an experienced breastfeeding mom. Our peer counselors are moms who have personal breastfeeding experience and have received many hours of training to enhance their breastfeeding and counseling skills.
When you enroll in Mom on Call, you have 24 – 7 access to breastfeeding help, which can be a relief when you are experiencing a problem outside of doctor’s office hours. Our peer counselors are trained to provide you with breastfeeding education and problem solving, and to be a part of your circle of care including your obstetrician, pediatrician, family, and friends. If you experience a breastfeeding problem that is beyond your peer counselor’s scope of practice, she will refer you to your physician, or to one of the Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants in our Coalition.
This service is free. Current eligibility requirements include:
- Must be a resident of Avoyelles, Rapides, or Natchitoches parish.
We have a Spanish speaking peer counselor on staff.
